My pick is Detroit because of the first disc . hard to choose one though because AQ2 has a special place in my heart for it's unique sound.

Been listening to Doors bootlegs/Live albums for over 30 years and Detroit was the first time I really got to hear what a Doors gig was 'really' like..... A truly stellar release... Pity there are so few for your poll mate!

I need to correct this. The title of the BMR release I have is Live in Hollywood Highlights from The Aquarius Show is great. I'm guessing that this is probably just selected songs from the actual concert.
I haven't heard the first or the second ones yet. Although I do want to get them.
I also have Bright Midnight Live In America. It has some good stuff on it as well.

The Aquarius First Show is great. I haven't heard the second one yet. Although I do want to get it. The Second performance is definetly better because of the longer setlist and the because the band seems more "alive" than the first performance.

Yeah the first show sounds a bit tired and Jim does not really warm up till the 2nd show.....still great pair of concerts all the same. BMR did the right thing to not edit the gigs as for Doors fans getting a feel of what The Doors were like live is far more important than just cramming stuff onto a disc. I miss BMR...

I am slowly building my Doors collection. I have quite a bit now, but I know there's more out there. It's just a matter of finding it.

BMR material is easily available here in the UK in places like Virgin Records and HMV. In the London stores its in the racks and a damn sight cheaper than what I paid those crooks at BMR for it.... Thats one of the bugbears of BMR .....thier rip off prices...no wonder people just burned them or bought bootleg versions. Sadly BMR lost so much money I doubt we will ever see a new release... Hopefully I will be dead wrong of course but those guys are gonna have to realise that lying to your customers providing a shite service and screwing them on price will only lead to one thing..........a field day for the pirates

AQ1, AQ2 and Detroit are usually floating around Ebay for around $30-$40. Well worth it IMO.
Only release that's just about impossible to find on the NET is Backstage and Dangerous.
I also enjoy the Live In America release. It's not the greatest live compilation of the Doors (Absolutely Live and In Concert is better IMO) but to hear BDM-LH-FTO from Pittsburgh is great and LMTT from Bakerfield is a gem......best version of that song i've ever heard with Hawaii '70 a close second

Wonder if thats to do with the mail order side and Rhino.....over here its such a pain to get BMR stuff so putting it the shops fills a gap...but maybe the Rhino side don't want competition.....

Ya know, here in the states it's almost impossible to find a BMR/A projects in the stores, and even if you do find a BMA release, it's probably Live In America and it's WAAAAAY overpriced...something like $24. In contrast, i bought my Live In America from Ebay for $12. I see a lot of BMA material on the Amazon "Z shop" section. I've bought Live In Detroit from these "Z shops" and it was a good experience (fast shipping, they also guarentee their products) and it was relativley cheap ($20-$25). best way to get BMA products here in the states is throught the internet.

I think I paid about $20 for my Live In Hollywood and Maximum Doors cd's. Maximum Doors is a biography of The Doors. I got them at Media Play. They were kind of like a box set. My Live In America cd I got at CD Warehouse for about $10.00.

If its true that BMA are planning a release before Xmas maybe its time fans got onto them about getting the CDs into stores quickly so fans can purchase the CDs easily instead of having to deal with those idiots Rhino......I for one will NOT pay thier extortionate prices plus criminal packing charges.....so its a store release for ME or a pirate.....if I see it in HMV or Virgin I will buy from BMA but if they bugger about with on line Rhino sales for a year I will have gotten it via the net as a download or bought it from a pirate.....Makes NO sense to NOT put BMA in the stores (especially in Europe) as customers are waiting to buy Doors stuff here but its such a piss about..... If BMA wants to prove its still run by idiots all it has to do is carry on the way its been going.....but if it actually wants to sell discs it need a sensible marketing and distribution packaging........Rhino was utter garbage......
