Well aware of the Floyd campaign! Gonna get the 2CD versions there, too, but only cuz finances dictate it to be so! Really looking forward to the live Animals tracks on disc 2 of WYWH!

Everyone is doing it nowadays. I have a boot with a bunch of Zeppelin studio out takes so they might do it soon. What gets my goat about The Doors is the constant regurgitaion of the same albums at high prices. My fave band but a bunch of greedy worthless assholes for people.

Yes. Must be a bitch for Doors newbies, these days ... "Hmm ... heard a Doors song on the radio ... that was really cool! Think I'll get some Doors ..." (Goes online to DL or buy a CD ... passes out from the plethora of Greatest Hits albums!)

not too occupied with the fact that this release is an umpteenth money junk's shot of surrogate heroin, straight down the greedy vains of Ray & co, feeding their addiction and making their eyes flicker with dollar signs... I'm keeping a Doors collection going, gladly taking in new product as far as there's 'new' or otherwise interesting stuff for grabs... having said this, I must say -as always- I warily await the true content of the goodies promised... this time around, it's the announced Alternate Versions and the new piece, "She Smells So Nice"... anybody familiar with this already?... I fear that 'alternate' here might turn out to be Perception like treatment and/or rather poor quality of sound; like with Matrix and Vancouver: being widely distributed official releases, superior quality was expected from them as well... hard to believe that this is going to be the unveiling of the ultimate buried treasure as Jampol paints it; held back and never told of for 40 years, no leaking whatsoever?... sounds like a mission impossible to my ears... least sane of all things said and told are the claims/rumours that all this was unearthed just this year; of all the years and decades, this goldmine reveals itself exactly 40 years after its contents were crafted?... wonders and miracles abound, but I seriously doubt they exist in Doors circles deffo passing on the vinyl though... as much as I love the looks, feel and smell of records, I will lightheartedly leave this behind in shop racks and record fair stalls; I gladly yield you, vinyl junks/diehard Doors collectors

Hello, I'm here again. I think it is more interesting 2CD pack. The talks between songs don’t impress me (besides I'm sure I can understand only 2 out of 4 words) and I’m sure they are pointless chatterings. Moreover, I have seen it is available for pre-order “Mr. Mojo Risin the story of LA Woman” DVD on Amazon. Funny thing is that the DVDs can be bought on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com are different (I always look at the various Amazon sites for comparing what I get cheaper, depending on currency exchange and the cost shipping). On Amazon.com, the DVD is 60 minutes length and according Amazon.co.uk, 94 minutes. Is not that a bit weird? Information from Amazon.co.uk Product details Format: PAL Region: All Regions Number of discs: 1 Classification: Exempt Studio: Eagle Vision DVD Release Date: 7 Nov 2011 Run Time: 94 minutes Product Description Mr Mojo Risin is the story of the making of the Doors last album with Jim Morrison L.A. Woman. 2011 is the 40th anniversary of the albums release and this programme goes into detail of how the album came about, its recording and what was happening to the band at the time. The story is told through new interviews with the three surviving Doors: Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger and John Densmore plus contributions from Jac Holzman, founder of their label Elektra Records, Bill Siddons, who was their manager, Bruce Botnick, engineer and co-producer of the album and others associated with the Doors at this time. The show includes archive footage of the Doors performing both live and in the studio, classic photographs and new musical demonstrations from the Doors. When you look at what a band like Pink Floyd are doing and what our bunch of fuckwits are chucking out it shows that our fave band is not just classless but has no sense of vision. Floyd have not milked their fanbase like these greedy bastards do endlessly and have put a lot of thought into their releases. All this shit Jampol comes out with about how all The Doors get involved is horseshit as we know Densmore keeps himself to himself with these kind of things as he has said so. Jampol is a liar and an asshole but he knows how to milk a fanbase. For me Floyd have done something really exceptional for Floyd fans but with The Doors it's just another hustle based on lies and deception about how they keep discovering things just in time to coincide with an anniversary.

And it just gets lamer and lamer ... Jeff Jampol says: We've made some changes - it's now looking like it COULD be FIVE CDs - we had a lot of stuff(!) It would prob also include a 100-page book (or near that) featuring unique writings, essays, photos and other features. It will be beautifully packaged, serial-numbered, and sold ONLY through www.thedoors.com and Rhino handmade online. Because of all the stuff we added, and the cost of mastering, prep, writing, licensing photos (which do not belong to us), etc, the price is steepsteepsteep. We have to figure out if we can even do this - if we DO, the msrp would have to be 99 bucks. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? It'd be an awesome collection, but jeez, a hundred bucks? If we DO prep this, it will definitely still make the November street date, not a problem - we just have to figure out if people really want all this outtake/alt take/studio material, along with the book. Can't separate them, so it's kind of all or nothing. I hereby dub Jampol Sir Twatt of Twattington!

I love good packaging, but when you get right down to it, the music better match ... and in this case, I just don't think the complete session reels of LAW WARRANT a deluxe reissue. Give me the 2CD version and we'll call it a day, eh?

Now slated for an end of January release. In what format and how much? God knows. Jeff Jampols lies about LAW during 2011 seem to have rebounded in his face here. I wonder what the real reason was for the delay? Maybe WEA are getting tired of The Doors. Who could blame them. They are no longer the cash cow they were 10 years ago. BMR has pretty much vanished. The Doors online fanbase has become dissillusioned by the lies. This arce Jampol is not fit to clean the toilets in the Doors office let alone make decisions. An utter liar and complete idiot.

Don't know if you heard the latest ... Jampol stated on the Doors' forum that Rhino US doesn't want to do the 5CD set. Rhino UK is still game for it. He feels if Rhino UK does it, Rhino US will follow suit. He said worst case scenario for the 5CD set would be a download-only release (iTunes, etc). They took instantly paid pre-orders of $100 USD for this (so far) fictitious box set months ago. Jampol did say on the forum that if physical copies of the box are not produced, all pre-orders will be refunded. Just when you thought it couldn't turn into more of a PR clusterfuck ... Jesus! Glad I didn't plan on getting the damn thing anyway ... Now, if the price on the iTunes version is reasonable, I might do it, ha ha! I have a feeling the damn thing, once they assembled it ... was unlistenable. Probably why Rhino got cold feet. It's not like Super Fucking Deluxe rock box sets aren't being made (and selling!) this holiday season (Pink Floyd, U2, Jethro Tull, Derek And The Dominos, The Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, etc, etc). There's something going on that is not being disclosed, or is being smoothed over.

The man is a LIAR mate. He has been found out a few times. He was publically forced by John Densmore to apologise to me on the Densmore forum when he made accusations against me being the sole cause of the Doors forums problems. I called him a liar and demanded an immediate public apology which I got from the little rat a few hours later after Densmore had been helpully given a whole wealth of info about what went on there including many screen captures of postings there during the Doors/dork War of 2003 which incriminated a few people who had been crying foul by me and claiming innocence themselves. For them to be taking pre orders from peoples credit cards is a disgrace. These people (and I include the lot in that) are a bunch of lying crooks. Pretty much everything they say is bullshit. There have been so many promises made that have come to nothing. BMR has been a joke under the Liar Jampol and the release schedule reduced to Carry On proportions. All they needed to do was put out an expanded LAW disc in 2007 and maybe an out takes disc of anything left worth hearing. The idea they just found this LAW out take tape is bollocks. The lying bastards just wanted to milk LAW in 2011. I have the Floyd Experience disc of DSOTM and WYWH and they are superb. I have seen the Immersion discs advertised and they too are sublime. Floyd of course have never milked the shit out of thier back catalogue like these Doors thieves. I been calling them out for years over this on both the Official Doors and Densmore forums. A bunch of lying spivs that's all these people are. One of the biggest troubles is that Jampol is not The Doors manager really. He manages the interest of so many artists (mostly dead ones) he cannot spend the time needed to do justice to Doors releases. He has no idea about what is still in the 'archive' and no real affinity with Doors fans. His Jovial Jeff act where he answered questions on the LL ended when his lies about the Matrix were exposed by the tape trading guys there and he spat his dummy out. He is a part timer making promises he can't deliver and has no control over the schedule he pulls out of his arce. His promises are all pie in the sky dreams. He has done this so many times now I don't understand how a Doors fan still believes this mans bullshit. I would seriosuly love to meet this idiot in Paris as I would make a point of telling him to his face what he is regardless of the fact he is 2ft taller then me.

Yeah, it is pretty amazing what has happened with The Doors under his management. I have the Experience DSOTM. Fantastic. Have heard the 3rd CD of the Immersion set. Not as impressive as the live disc on the Experience set. Will get WYWH Experience with any amazon xmas vouchers! SOOO looking forward to that!

The live section of WYWH is awesome. I have heard many boots from this 1974 Floyd period but the quality here is fantastic. BMR did a good job quality wise but I think it wasted too much time with Bruce Botnicks involvement. Plenty of engineers could do just as good if not better. Sadly BMR has basically dissapeared up Jampols ringpiece as the mismanagement of that particular part of The Doors empire is deserving of a library of books. How something so simple can be fucked up so badly by such an unbelievable idiot as Jeffrey boggles the mind. This shit is so simple. Find 40 year old recordings. Take out the worst hiss and shit. Stick it on a CD and sell it in a shop for a price reflective of the age of the material. I have remastered discs of stuff from bands nobody has ever heard of but my fave band is fucking useless at this. Jampol was telling everybody that he was gonna release all this stuff on the net as downloads to simplify things. His very words are on this forum. A arcehole, idiot and a liar. Who the hell did Doors fans ever piss off to be lumbered with this fuckwit

I don't collect bootlegs as a rule (except Zeppelin, back in high school and college), so I had never heard any 70s live Floyd until the Dark Side Experience Edition. Animals is my fave Floyd album, so I am SO stoked to hear those two live tunes on the Experience WYWH. Just wish they would have put out a full 1974 live recording, cuz didn't they do the two Animals trax, some of the WYWH album in the first half and all of DSOTM in the second? Would have made a killer live CD set! Anyway ... I think BMR has run its course ... unless they put out a complete Matrix from the actual master tapes and the London Fog material. Then they can give it a rest, IMHO. So sad that such a great and (whether anyone cares to admit it anymore) influential band has so royally fucked up their legacy. It would be great to go back in time and oversee the release of all this vault shit ... collate ALL existing tapes; BUY anything you don't already own (you know you will make your money back, or you would have 10-15 years ago!); Release four CDs a year, one each quarter, in chronological order until you exhaust your load. Short booklet with a short essay and a few photos. The entire series could have included live shows, interviews, etc, outtakes, and on and on and on. Would have been cool to have seen it managed in a way that made sense. The sequencing on the 1997 box set makes no sense whatsoever. I've been over all this before, but this whole L.A. Woman debacle has gotten me pissed off all over again. Maybe it's time to see if I can get a life, ha ha!

I've been over all this before, but this whole L.A. Woman debacle has gotten me pissed off all over again. Maybe it's time to see if I can get a life, ha ha! Mate I been doing this shit for 40 odd years and still haven't grown bored of the band just the assholes who claim to speak for it. I agree about BMR. Jampol's policy is to regurgitate endlessly the same material to bring in newer fans. He does not care about the older ones. He has said as much himself over the years. Mainly as most of the older ones sussed him out as the liar he is pretty quickly. He does not have time anyways as he runs so many other rock legacies which he is probably fucking up royally as well. He is a parasite who lives off dead people. It amazes me how some fans still have confidence in him LAW a perfect example of his lies and deceits. The bloke is a worthless piece of shit. Was a bootlegger during the 70s and knew some pretty big players including the legendary Roger Scott (of TMQ which became Swinging Pig fame) who sent me a tape of Dallas with LAW long before it became known in the boot world. He was a very nice fellow and a solid guy. I got a lot of Floyd boots from the 74 tour. The most famous back then was Stoke Trentham Gardens which featured the Animals tracks but with names like Gotta Be Crazy, Ravin' and Droolin' etc. Because of that boot Animals was delayed by a year as Floyd were a bit annoyed about it's soundboard quality. It's frustrating that my fave band can't get this anywhere near right because of the stupidity of ONE man. Ray and Robby are assholes and John has become one with a bunker mentality and keeps out of it if he can. Truly pathetic trio if ever there was one. The only cash they have ever made is out of us Doors fans yet they treat us like children and tell pathetic lies and allow a complete arce to be their spokesperson. Fuck knows what will happen with this London Fog tape. I expect in 2012 Jampol will reveal it is actually a tape of The Doobie Brothers from Galveston Texas but he did not have time to listen to it until just that week. The Matrix tape has been promised by this rat for a while now. After ripping Doors fans off with that bootleg copy he owes us bigstyle over that one. But he was pissed off when the tape guys on the LL called him a liar and threw a wobbly threatening to stop BMR completely if they did not desist in revealing what a lying twat he was. See wasn't just me that wound him up He seems to wrap himself in knots with his constant lies until he cannot remember which lie he was telling last. During the Matrix farce he was at one stage contradicting his own lies. LAW has been a disaster. Who wants to pay 100 bucks for mp3s of the LAW 5 album box. Like you said once they had realised that the 5 album deal was a complete mess Jampol reneged on the deal and came out with his latest pack of lies about Rhino not wanting to do it. You can always tell when Jeff is lying. He is saying something.

No doubt about it, the man is a jerk.
The (now deleted) word on the Hoffman forum is that Rhino isn't the party that doesn't want to do the LAW box; The Doors' camp wants to put the kibosh to it. If you notice, Rhino is right up there with the other labels this holiday season, putting out box sets right and left ... they've been doing it all year! Most recent are an uber box of The Smiths and a 3 CD treatment of The Monkees' Instant Replay.
I would love to know the reasons behind this. My GUESS is the material didn't stack up. Just cuz you have complete session reels for an album doesn't mean it's all worth releasing! A 2CD set would have (and, apparently, will) serve this album just fine come 25 January. You been over to the Doors online shop? They have the cover of the LAW outtakes LP posted. Pretty funky cover; I dig it.

That is a bombshell It's obviously why it was deleted then as the truth and The Doors never seem too compatible. This makes more sense. 5 CDs was Jampols fantasy and maybe the others saw it was unworkable. He blamed Rhino so he did not look a dick and lying comes easy to Jampol. He has done that on many occasions and blamed other people to cover his ass. We exposed him as a liar a few times over on the Denmsore forum. What did Hoffman say exactly that he felt he had to delete or was forced to delete. I just went across to the BMR forum on LL a few minutes ago and they mention it there. Looks to me as if Jeff is gonna get exposed as a liar again pretty soon over this. Blaming Rhino is a dangerous strategy if guys like Hoffman can find out the truth others will as well. I have never been to the Doors online shop as giving them money is not high on my agenda I just went over but could not find the cover as it's all about that garbage film WYS. I will see it eventually without having to visit an official Doors website

Hoffman just implied that it wasn't Rhino that didn't want to do it. That's all I can gather.
Hoffman was contracted a while ago to master a complete Matrix set from the master tapes. Understandably, he has to stay on good terms with all parties involved if he wants to work for them. I completely understand his need to be discreet. When the Matrix debacle happened, it blew up HUGE on the Hoffman board.
Steve did post a while ago in one of the Doors threads there, warning people to watch their mouths re: what were basically Jampo's fuck-ups! ; )
I try not to stir much shit there as I love that forum and don't wanna get banned, ha ha!

I try not to stir much shit there as I love that forum and don't wanna get banned, ha ha! Me, I have always been of the opinion that if you are discussing a subject discuss the truth.....good and the bad. I was accused on the old LL of being the biggest Doors hater on the internet by one of the Manzarek cronies on there but that is so far from the truth. I love this band but I also see that there is a darker side to them which involves greed, betrayal, lies and deceits. I been banned off Densmore's and the Doors forum because I felt that the truth about The Doors should be discussed rather than the sanitised Mythical version. None of it ever made me feel discomfort listening to a Doors album. Hell I can't abide Ray but love listening to his albums. His latest with Roy Rogers is excellent. It's all about differentiation the ability to see The Doors seperately as artists and as people. The people are distastful to me but the artists are icons of mine. Liars like Jampol sicken me but I would debate the band with him. He could buy me a gin and tonic if he ever made it to Paris but I would still call him a liar to his face
