i really enjoyed your reading alex, it was cool, you did really well. i particularly liked this bit... ”You guys just made a pact with the devil. He seduces you with cute little gas efficient cars. But you go along with it because the deals so good. I know you Ray... you’re only in it for the money.... lots of money.....” nice dig....where is this from? you must have added the ray bit... i like the idea of combining diff poems of jim's to describe different parts of his life...a cool tribute dude ;D It's from Ray's LMF book (P306-307) and a direct quote of Jim according to Ray....I wanted it all to be Jim's own words....I spent a lot of time compiling that and wanted to portray Jim's life in his own words.....I chose that NOT to have a dig at Ray but rather to illustrate when the 'Bad' time started as Jim realised the other 3 were not quite into the art as he was and said to a friend 'I now have business partners'......it was pretty much all downhill from there for Jim sadly which is why I chose this line for the next bit..... Motel, money, murder, madness Change the mood from glad to sadnessI enjoyed compiling it and more so reading it.......I look forward to the next one.....

well its a labour of love and i loved it bro! atleast Ray put it in his book, i read that book...looks like i could do with re-reading it if jim really said that then it puts these assholes to shame who claim jim wanted the commercials and primarily the money. it shows that for being crap as i expected it to be anyway...

Lets have some comment from those who read stuff.....can't remember everybody who read. Rick, Eressie, Stu and Darryl read thier own stuff as well as a bit of Jim.......... Iain, Me, Alex (the younger), Hermine and Jochen read Jim stuff. This was one Darryl Read read from his 'Set' book (a request from me) and which is also on his Freshly Dug album with Ray (which is excellent BTW ) “My pulse beats your heart life, I am the dark angel, and I come from the last poets land, We have deep soul here, We are winters angels. Thirty birds shall call on you in deep dream, Marsh gods will unfold scenes. Come all that are right, across soil and sand, I am the dark angel, We are the last poets from the summer lands.”

I read "Why do I drink?" and "If only I" of Jim. Why do I drink? So that I can write poetry.
Sometimes when it's all spun out and all that is ugly recedes into a deep sleep There is an awakening and all that remains is true. As the body is ravaged the spirit grows stronger.
Forgive me Father for I know what I do. I want to hear the last Poem of the last Poet.It was cool to read there, I don't know, but I wasn't nervous at all, probably I'm used to it from uni... I would have read some more, for example "Road days" and two or three shorter ones, but they all got stolen together with my bag...

HORSE LATITUDES When the still sea conspires an armor And her sullen and aborted Currents breed tiny monsters, True sailing is dead.
Awkward instant And the first animal is jettisoned, Legs furiously pumping Their stiff green gallop, And heads bob up Poise Delicate Pause Consent In mute nostril agony Carefully refined And sealed over
When I was back there in seminary school, There was a person there Who put forth the proposition, That you can petition the Lord with prayer Petition the lord with prayer, Petition the lord with prayer You cannot petition the lord with prayer! Can you give me sanctuary, I must find a place to hide, A place for me to hide Can you find me soft asylum, I can't make it anymore, The Man is at the door Peppermint, miniskirts, chocolate candy, Champion sax and a girl named Sandy There's only four ways to get unraveled, One is to sleep and the other is travel, da da One is a bandit up in the hills, One is to love your neighbor 'till His wife gets home Catacombs, Nursery bones, Winter women, Growing stones Carrying babies, To the river Streets and shoes, Avenues, Leather riders Selling news, The monk bought lunch Ha ha, he bought a little, Yes, he did, Woo! This is the best part of the trip, This is the trip, the best part I really like, What'd he say?, Yeah!, Yeah, right! Pretty good, huh, Huh!, Yeah, I'm proud to be a part of this number Successful hills are here to stay, Everything must be this way Gentle streets where people play, Welcome to the Soft Parade All our lives we sweat and save, Building for a shallow grave Must be something else we say, Somehow to defend this place Everything must be this way, Everything must be this way, yeah The Soft Parade has now begun, Listen to the engines hum People out to have some fun, A cobra on my left Leopard on my right, yeah The deer woman in a silk dress, Girls with beads around their necks Kiss the hunter of the green vest, Who has wrestled before With lions in the night Out of sight!, The lights are getting brighter The radio is moaning, Calling to the dogs There are still a few animals, Left out in the yard But it's getting harder, To describe sailors, To the underfed Tropic corridor, Tropic treasure What got us this far, To this mild equator? We need someone or something new Something else to get us through, yeah, c'mon Callin' on the dogs, Callin' on the dogs Oh, it's gettin' harder, Callin' on the dogs Callin' in the dogs, Callin' all the dogs, Callin' on the gods You gotta meet me, Too late, baby Slay a few animals, At the crossroads, Too late All in the yard, But it's gettin' harder, By the crossroads You gotta meet me, Oh, we're goin', we're goin great At the edge of town, Tropic corridor, Tropic treasure Havin' a good time, Got to come along, What got us this far To this mild equator?, Outskirts of the city, You and I We need someone new, Somethin' new, Somethin' else to get us through Better bring your gun, Better bring your gun Tropic corridor, Tropic treasure, We're gonna ride and have some fun When all else fails, We can whip the horse's eyes And make them sleep, And cry

guys the poetry event was obviously a resounding success well done to everybody who read at it especially those who were nervous and still had the balls to do it unlike me.... i had something prepared which i wasnt gonna read but i have it in my head.... but in the end i felt it was too personal to share coz it was written for teh most part about about a chic who pretty much tore out my heart, ate it and shat it out in front of me.... so i just couldnt let it out..... i was beginning to get extremely emotional jus thinkin about it and would more than likely have burst into floods of tears... which would not have been a pretty sight.... but anyway... it was not all about her... i had bits of morrison in there and rimbaud also... so if anybody wants to hear a lil of it... click the link below and go to the audio page and click on la peche... once again well done to everybody involved.... www.seriousmotherfucker.moonfruit.com/
